A sepsi, kézdi, orbai és részben a telegdi székelyek megtelepednek a megye területén
A kereszténység felvétele után a nyugati határok védelménél fontosabbá vált a kunok, besenyők, tatárok által veszélyeztetett keleti gyepű biztosítása.
A magyarokhoz csatlakozó székelyeket határvédelmi céllal telepítették előbb Dél-Erdélybe, majd a mai Háromszék területére.
Az eredetileg Baranya térségéből érkező, majd rövid ideig Szászsebesen, onnan térségünkbe érkező sebesi (sepsi) székelyek az Olt völgyébe (Tusnádig),
a Szászkézdről érkező kézdi székelyek a Feketeügy folyó jobb partjára, a Szászorbó környékéről települők orbai székelyek pedig a Feketeügy bal oldalán
húzódó területen telepedtek meg. A Szent László által vezetett bihari hercegséghez, Telegd vidékéhez köthető székelyek adták Erdővidék őseit,
de a lovagkirály kultusza egész Székelyföldön nyomon követhető. 1270 körül a király parancsára a kézdi székelyek egy csoportja népesíti be a mai
Aranyosszék területét.

Secuii din Sepsi, Kézdi, Orbai și parțial cei din Telegd se stabilesc pe teritoriul comitatului.
După creștinare, securizarea frontierelor estice, amenințate de cumani, pecenegi și tătari, a devenit mai importantă decât protejarea granițelor vestice.
Secuii care s-au alăturat ungurilor au fost aduși mai întâi în sudul Transilvaniei și apoi în zona Trei Scaune de astăzi, pentru protecția granițelor.
Originari din regiunea Baranya, secuii Sebesi (Sepsi) s-au stabilit pentru o scurtă perioadă de timp în zona Sebeș, iar de aici au ajuns în regiunea noastră,
așezându-se pe valea Oltului (până la Tușnad). Secuii din Kézdi au venit din zona Saschizd și s-au stabilit pe malul drept, iar secuii Orbai,
proveniți din zona Gârbova (Szászorbó), pe cel stâng al Râului Negru. Strămoșii locuitorilor din zona Baraolt au provenit din poporul secuiesc din ducatul bihorean al
Sfântului Ladislau, din zona Tileagd, dar cultul cavalerului-rege poate fi urmărit în tot Ținutul Secuiesc. În jurul anului 1270, un grup de secui din Kézdi s-a stabilit în
zona Scaunului Arieșului la ordinul regelui.

The Sepsi, Kézdi, and Orbai Székelys, and partially the Telegdi Székelys, settle in the county’s territory
After the adoption of Christianity, ensuring the security of the eastern marches threatened by the Cumans, Pechenegs, and Tatars became more important than defending the
western borders. The Székelys, who joined the Hungarians, were initially settled in Southern Transylvania for border defense purposes, and later in the territory of
present-day Háromszék. The Sebesi or Sepsi Székelys, originally from the region of Baranya, briefly settled in Sebeș, then arrived in our region and settled up to the Olt
Valley (until Tusnád). Meanwhile, the Kézdi Székelys from Szászkézd settled on the right bank of the Feketeügy, and the Orbai Székelys from Szászorbó settled in the area
along the left bank of the Feketeügy. The population of Erdővidék traces its ancestry to the Székelys connected with the Bihar principality, under the leadership of Saint
Ladislaus, and the Telegd region. However, the cult of the knight-king is evident throughout the Székely Land. Around 1270, at the king’s command, a group of Kézdi Székelys
settled the territory of present-day Aranyosszék.
